- Give generously. That’s the theme this week. Giving generously can happen in many different ways: to the local church, to non-profits, to individuals, and to other causes. When it comes to giving (money, time, skill), what is a roadblock that gets in the way of giving?
- Read 2 Corinthians 8:8-15. As you look at Paul’s case for the contribution to Jerusalem, what is the goal of the gift?
- What does Paul mean in verse 12 about the gift being acceptable?
- Read verse 9 again, then consider this question from Randy Alcorn & Tim Keller: “Do I live as if I’m focused on heaven, where I plan to live forever, or on earth, where I’ll live one-billionth of my existence? In light of eternity, am I happy about where I’m placing my focus?”*
- The opening question was about roadblocks, but what about blessings. What is the result of giving freely without attachment?
