- Forgiveness is the theme this week. Let’s take a look at a few verses to see God’s perspective on forgiveness. Read Psalm 103:1-12. What do we learn in these verse about God’s desire for forgiveness?
- Read Colossians 2:13-15. What has God done through Jesus to provide forgiveness? Debt is the metaphor used here. How does that help you understand the work of Jesus?
- Take a look at Matthew 18:21-35.
- Do you ever wonder why Peter asked the question (v 21) about forgiveness? Are there times when you would like to escape forgiving others?
- Debt is in view again. What does this parable teach us about how we as the forgiven are to treat others?
- Finally, read Ephesians 4:25-5:2. To be forgiving like Christ is the goal. How many things stand in our way even in the church to accomplishing that goal? What are some ways that you have experienced the kindness and forgiveness of others?
