- Glory. That was a key word on Sunday morning. Read John 17:1-5. In what ways did Jesus bring glory to God in his ministry, death, and resurrection?
- Jesus received glory from the Father then hands his glory to his disciples, even modern-day disciples (John 17:22). Take a look at John 17:13-19. Not everyone will accept the glory of God. What reasons do people give for resisting God’s glory?
- What promises from God do you see in Jesus’ words for his disciples?
- Jesus prays for protection (John 17:15). What will his protection allow his disciples to do in the world?
- In your own life: Where have you experienced God’s glory? In what ways have you experienced God’s protection?
- One of the results of Jesus’ prayers in John 17 is that his disciples would be close to him – that they would see his glory. What reasons do you have to be thankful for the work of Jesus in your life right now?
