- We just looked through the 10 Commandments. How is God’s character on display in the Commandments? What did you find most refreshing as you considered the Commandments?
- The fear of the Lord changes for God’s people as they approach him. In Exodus 20:18-21 there is a feeling of the power of God. In what ways do the people have a proper fear of the Lord? In what ways does their fear seem like terror instead of reverence?
- Seeking God’s presence is a key point in the 10 Commandments. Take some time to answer the questions that were posed on Sunday regarding our approach to God.
- How have you seen God at work?
- What is God doing in you right now?
- What do you hope God will do next?
- As you consider the fear of the Lord and seeking his presence, read Hebrews 4:16. In what way can this passage help refine in you a proper understanding of the fear of God?
- What is God able to do in you that you cannot do on your own? How can you thank God for his work in you?
