This Life Group season runs from February 8-March 21, 2025.
This will conclude the winter life group session. Take a break after this week until the start of the Spring season, April 12 – May 30. Make sure to plan some fellowship time(s) and/or find ways to serve as a group.
- Psalm 26 will be our focus this week. This is a Psalm of David that could have served as a prayer many times in his life. Let’s break it down into three sections. Read Psalm 26:1-3. If you know David’s story, how did he live the words of this passage? How have you seen faithful people live these words in your own life?
- How does asking the Lord to examine your heart lead to a life that is reliant on God’s faithfulness and love?
- Read Psalm 26:4-8. How do David’s actions help him resist temptation?
- Verse 6 points to having a clean conscience before the Lord. How does having a clean conscience affect your relationship with God? With others? With yourself (that is, how do you feel when you do right vs. when you sin)?
- Psalm 26:9-12 is a request of God. Verse 8 is referencing the tabernacle, where God’s glory dwells with his people. What physical locations or specific times do you have in your life where you can approach God’s glory? What is that experience like?
- As you look at the Psalm as a whole, what stands out as a good word to encourage you to rely on God’s faithfulness and love?
“The best course to prevent falling into the pit is to keep at the greatest distance from it; he who will be so bold as to attempt to dance upon the brink of the pit, may find by woeful experience that it is a righteous thing with God that he should fall into the pit.”
