This Life Group season runs from April 27 – June 1, 2025.
This week we reviewed the 8th commandment: You shall not steal (Exodus 20:15). There were three points made with a handful of Scriptures. In your conversation you will take a look at some of these Scriptures and add your own experience to our study of the Ten Commandments.
- Greed is never satisfied. We looked at Matthew 6:19 and Proverbs 30:7-9. Why to you think it is so difficult for some people to find contentment in life?
- How have you struggled with this issue? What has helped you learn to be content?
- Integrity is More Valuable than Stuff. It was noted that stealing is fueled by anxiety and/or greed. That is, I lack and steal out of fear or I am ungrateful and steal because I want more. In Matthew 16:25-27 Jesus indicates that a person’s soul is at stake when they give in to greed. Is that the cost of greed? What are the other effects of greed on a person?
- Generosity Fulfills (Worry Kills). How has God been generous to you?
- Proverbs 11:25 and Luke 6:38 speak of the benefits of generosity. What benefits have you experienced from being generous? What has helped you grow in generosity throughout your life?
