This Life Group season runs from September 14-December 14, 2025.
The two primary texts from Sunday are Matthew 24 and Isaiah 64. Both speak of our Hope, which can be lost at times but is essential for if we are to endure the trials in this life.
- Take a look at Matthew 24:36-51. There are two related parables that Jesus tells here. What is the point of these parables?
- Jesus relates our need for salvation and hope to Noah and the flood. People were unprepared. Why do some people party on in life and ignore their need for a savior?
- Maybe we party on and ignore our need too! It can be easy for followers of Jesus to think that they’re prepared when they are not. In the second parable (Matthew 24:45-51), the servants get complacent. What leads to complacency for believers in Christ?
- What are some ways that God snaps people out of complacency?
- If we look back to the first parable, preparation matters (Matthew 24:42-44). What are some spiritual habits a person takes on that strengthen hope and/or combat complacency?
- What is one (or two) reason you are thankful to God for your hope in Jesus today?
