This Life Group season runs from September 15 – December 8, 2024.
We will use the truths we heard this week along with some of the follow up questions as our guide. It is likely that answering these together could help you see where God is working in your life right now.
- Read 1 Kings 18:1-15. Who would you rather be in this situation, Elijah or Obadiah (don’t choose King Ahab)? Why?
- The way God hid Elijah reminds us that God has the power to do whatever He wills. If God wants something hidden, it will remain that way. However, when God reveals himself, He does so powerfully and in our real lives. How is God using his power to reveal himself to you now or in the past?
- Obadiah was quietly faithful. A truth we see here is that you can be faithful in an unfaithful workplace. What does Obadiah do that is faithful in his workplace?
- When Elijah asks Obadiah to go to King Ahab, Obadiah is fearful and uses what he has faithfully done to demonstrate that maybe he doesn’t need to be the one to do this new task. In what ways have you used past faithfulness to avoid doing something that is right but difficult?
- Finally: Don’t be a fool (re-read Proverbs 26:1-2 if you need a reminder). What faithful friends do you have who help you see what God is doing in your life? Are you typically open to challenge from these friends? How can you develop more openness to hear God’s voice clearly?
