- Read the Emmaus Road encounter from Luke 24:13-35. This story has delighted believers for a long time. What do you find delightful about this moment between Jesus and his disciples?
- How would you describe Jesus’ response to his disciples (25-26)? Why do you think he responded in this way?
- What do you think is so significant about the breaking of the bread that it caused the disciples to recognize Jesus? Why did they not see him as Jesus before that moment?
- Have you had moments like these disciples, where God was at work but you didn’t see it for a long time? What are some ways that God has “broken bread” with you to make you see him again?
